Established in September 1983, Morpeth Tandoori is one of longest established Indian Take-Away’s in the heart of Northumberland in the Market town Morpeth for nearly 30 years. Abdul Muhit has prided himself on the quality and range of products offered since he first opened throughout to this current day.

The “Bengol Range” is created by Abdul using his own mix of spices blended to create that unique twist of flavours to other dishes available. The “Bengol” flavour can be requested to virtually every dish available on the menu upon request.

Here at Morpeth Tandoori we have focused on the quality and standard of dishes created for our customers using the finest and freshest ingredients available to create your perfect freshly made meal but apologise for any delay with your order, due to all of our dishes being freshly prepared individually, therefore delays are inevitable, especially at busy times.

We use 100% fresh British Breast Chicken sourced from farms based in Yorkshire.
We use 100% fresh British Lamb and Beef sourced locally from farms based in Northumberland and County Durham.
We use 100% British Dairy products with 95% of it sourced locally from North East Farms.
All our baked goods are made with 100% British milled flour.
We only use premium traditional authentic basmati rice which has been aged for over a year before imported in to us
When in season, our vegetables are British but everyone knows what the weathers like here!
Our seafood is sourced from premium farms worldwide for the best quality available on the market.
All our spices are sourced from India for that authentic traditional flavour to be created.
All our chips are hand cut and freshly fried, no frozen chips used!
All our Tandoori dishes are cooked in an authentic traditional charcoal clay oven, the way it was originally made, no gas grills used!
Our nut products unless stated contain 100% pure authentic Cashew nuts, such as our Massala dishes, no artificial thickening agents used!
95% of our packaging we provide is recyclable


Just to let you know we are a “5 Star” hygiene rated kitchen of Northumberland County Council thanks to a heavily invested state of the art kitchen and fully trained, highly skilled experienced chefs in the Indian cuisine trade.
